Hmmm, I'm not convinced by that "certificate" and I doubt you are either.
He's sticking to his guns though. At this point you don't have much choice but to stress test the batteries and see how hot you can get them at 20 amps. That takes a bit more equipment like a digital thermometer, and a load capable of handling 20 amps for an extended period, and preferably a bunker to put them in while you do that. A few 10 second blasts with that load while monitoring OC voltage, load voltage, and temperature and you will have a fair idea what you've got.
Given that this is how you intend to use the batteries anyway, this test would be replicating that but with a bit longer time under load, and it doesn't require you to put it in your face while you do it.
The only other observation I'll make is that this kind of load will stress even good batteries - it's just that good batteries will fail within six months with normal use, instead of six minutes.

Did they address the spot weld marks on the positive plate ? NO WAY thats a std Factory Single Cell IMO ... had to be scavenged and lets face it a guy selling wholesale "$3" cells to 140 vape shops doesnt mean those cells arent whats on the shrinkwrap , most vapers will just go .. "meh" they must be originals , I bought them from a vape shop " but as has been proven in the past , even the best shops get caught out ... I wonder how many of the "140 vape shops" are in actuality dodgy web sellers themselves ? Every one of these third party business's claim to be straight to the factory, but the reality is most lie thru their teeth and buy their cells off resellers themselves , thats why there are so many dodgy cells out there ... didnt matter when they were going into laptop packs and couldnt be scrutinised or subjected to the heavy loads that only vaping puts on them ... 18650 cells were designed for far less stresses we put them under and as such vaping is the one thing thats likely to stress them to their limits  |

Rod spotted that in the Ebay listing.
My question is why are the battery packs unused? Is it possible that they didn't perform as expected, so the manufacturer dumped them?
You're right though, there's no chain of evidence for these things. It's all third party and all of them are relying on the honesty of the previous handler. I've never heard of VapourEyes selling recycled batteries, used or otherwise. That would be dodgy as f...

Thanks for our earlier discussion Scott, it's theo here again i have forwarded the infomation to BOH to check this for you i've also flung off a message to tech around you and they have also advised me that they do Sell Battery pack - batteries via their ebay store and so for the but assured us that the ones we have are 100% geniune and are not being pulled out from battery packs.
Once BOH has time to Check them out i will update you asap via here.

Wow, Subi you are unraveling a hornets net - really interesting. now wondering if my 30Q's from the vape store are authentic if they came from that ebay seller originally ? but they do look ok and my battery's aren't really pushed with vaping a max of 14w and most of the time more likely 10w. Anyway this is all good learning and will keep following this thread to see the final outcome. Thanks for posting all this  One thing is certain though & that is I will be sticking to SS solely in the future. |
