As we are a COMMUNITY here , we feel it only correct that if someone joins the forum for the express purpose of Advocacy, or Research then it would be only Morally and Ethically correct for such individuals to identify themselves as such, rather than join the forum "undercover" posing as a regular member . If they do identify themselves, then the ViA staff have no problem with them asking or posing questions and using the information provided to them
in direct response to those requests/questions as they see fit.
However any post/discussion made outside of that scenario is a different matter entirely.
All posts on ViA are published by the poster/member concerned and as such that poster retains ALL rights to those posts and they must not be used or copied/printed/interpreted or disseminated elsewhere without the EXPRESS consent of the publisher and/or the creators of ViA .
Vaping in Australia is a community created and maintained to provide a focal point and promote discussion between vapers and those who have personal interest in the field, it is NOT intended to be a database for harvesting or clandestine investigation/research.
Too many "individuals" are using Vaping as a way to " Make a name" , secure a grant etc, and rather than a fair and open minded look at things, they instead are pushing an agenda and seek to cherry pick information to that end ... this is NOT research, this is NOT science... it is politics and self interest at its worst !
Vaping has worked for each and every one of us here, and it would be entirely fair to say it is much more attractive than smoking for a plethora of reasons to the members of these forums ... THAT is the information that you should take away from here

ALL Advocacy posts must be in the POLITICAL section of the forum, it is important to respect that not every vaper wants or needs someone to speak on their behalf, nor do they wish to be badgered or told how to think or feel. As such please demonstrate your respect by only posting advocacy related posts in the allocated political area of the forums.
Of course you are welcome just to talk vaping/general bullspit anywhere else on the forum , just keep the advocacy IN the political area.
Retailer based Advocacy
If you are also in the murky area of Advocacy AND retail it would behoove you to figure out how you wish to approach the forum, recalling once again this is a PRIVATELY FUNDED forum and as WE are paying the bills it gives us a modicum to dictate how people participate here on our dime per se.
We realise that advocacy and retail mixed together is a huge can of worms and conflict of interest, as such we ask that you appear as an ADVOCATE or a RETAILER, but not both ... which one you choose to be , is totally your decision , but NO crossing over in posting of either pursuit will be tolerated
If you are an advocate linking to your business or advertising in any form will see you gone...
If you are a retailer/supplier... then you are on this forum to flog "shyte" , not represent a cause or platform... let someone ELSE in the organisation that is not monetarily linked to vaping proselytyse and stick to flogging your wares free from any conflict of interest.
As such whether YOU approve or not , the owners of Vaping in Australia wish to make and maintain a clear divide between those selling us "Shyte", and those spouting "Shyte" on the communities behalf .... A retailing/supplying/profiting agency cannot claim a non-vested advocacy interest, we've heard it all before ...
