DNA75 has started doing this. Randomly locks itself: Was once a week. Now most days. Evolv forum searches suggested grime in the switch. I was only confident to cotton bud and isopropyl alcohol around button, but not take the faceplate off. As you can see, that is a deep screw into ultem. Wondering if I can take battery and bottle out, and bath whole thing in isopropyl? And how long it would need to dry in Melbourne winter? Hoping that I don't need to send it to New York for repair. In fairness, it has been in daily use 18 months. And I don't baby mods. Any advice appreciated. laurie9300

DM, Had similar issue with my VapeDroid C1D2 - sticking button - random locks . . . Tried cleaning is ISO - worked for a bit - but eventually gave out - tracked down some Tactile switches as used on the daughter board that attaches to the DNA75 - and ended up replacing the fire switch - around 1/2 years ago - still using every day since . . . Was a bit fiddlly to do as it's surface mounted - but doable with a fairly fine tipped soldering iron . . . Are you sure it's not gunk in the activator / button that is pushed onto micro switch ? ie getting stuck resulting in 5 click / lock . . ??

I'd definitely recommend removing the face plate.
Complete submertion is an option though, I know for sure the board will not be damaged. The rest of the mod.....who knows?
If you've flattened out the little domey thing in the tac switch, replacement is the only option.
The only other thing I can think of is canned air. A good dry blow out might help. Or if you do go for submertion it should help to dry things out.

The one aspect of submersion that would concern me is the effect on the case ? Have you tried some iso on an inconspicuous corner of the mod ? I know some chemicals can turn plastic cloudy ? or make them brittle - also - take care with Iso on the screen . . .

Isopropyl will generally turns plastic cloudy as its literally eating away the plasticiers....its irreversible

Looks like it was pretty gunky around that button / actuator . . . Hopefully cleaning that out resolves the issues . . stops any binding . . Did you clean out the hole in the faceplate too ?
