My guess is they plan to treat it like Tobacco. Banned imports and same Tobacco taxes. For our safety and well being.
That would mean legal as a consumer product and far better than I expect
exactly, like fools they rushed to call us smokers 2.0 while paying Lip service to Cancer Council.
Pro vape is to stupid to exploit that but anti vape is not. They know in hindsight it was stupid play. They will have to bribe politicians push a law with scalpel like precision or they risk falling on their own sword.
as i said on the other site. It not necessarily a bad thing all comes down to how its used.....
But i also said Pro Vape is to stupid... they did nothing with it just beating the same the same old tune that hasn't worked for 5+ years
I've only read Fatmans post so far (first time I've been back in a while). I've been in the DPTB camp since I started vaping, mostly due to the fact pollies are bunch of self serving f.... The only thing they will listen to is votes, and unfortunately, there just aren't enough in each electorate to actually force a change. Basically BOHICA. Shows you how shifty these guys are by trying to push through legislation (re nic), while there is essentially no parliament, that is totally unrelated to the current pandemic focused situation.
and I'm not going to get started on our 'government'granting us free speech as opposed to the right to free speech....
I have literally just had a reply to the email I sent my local MP and feel so grateful she thought it deserved a meaningless regurgitation of previous BS that I felt compelled to post here. No sarcasm in that sentence at all. To be truthful she had one of her minions send it on her behalf but I should be grateful it was acknowledged at least.
I won't bother copying the whole thing as its complete crap anyway but she does apologise for taking one day short of six weeks for replying. The crux is Labors general position on ENDS is to accept the advice of Australian and international experts, which is to maintain a precautionary approach to their marketing and use. It continues they respect independence and expertise of the TGA and note it's advice.
Apparently she is pleased that ENDS use helped my son and I to quit smoking and encourages me to speak to my GP about options if the prohibition goes ahead AS PLANNED. Also she would be interested to hear how the outcome of that conversation.
Therefore I shall be in contact with my local GP and as she's shown deep concern for my wellbeing I shall inform her what a complete waste of time that was. However it will be an opportunity for me to highlight the unnecessary position I will inevitably find myself in and if she has any other pearls of wisdom to bestow on me.
I shall do this as politely as possible and end with the fact that she's lost my vote too.
