I'm a bit cut I couldn't go due to work... grrrrr... I would have passed on the 75c, but I probably would have taken a shot at picking up the mech if they were nice in person. So does this place usually do high end squonkers? Because I need more of that in my life  . I managed to avoid putting my name down on the draw for the Punto Zero. I did fondle it (multiple times) - very cute with a surprisingly nice button. They also had a few Hakus for sale to people who didn't already own one (Steven Hasani, the creator of the Haku, is behind the Regency Vapour Lounge). Their fb page says "Our primary focus is high quality Vapour products for long term vapers" and "In order to cater to the growing quality demands of Australian vapers, we have been working very hard to source some of the industry's finest and most sought after items, many of which can only be found on waiting lists and exclusive groups." The latter is, I think, the rationale behind the 'cracking of the vault' days - access in Australia to some of those closed/secret fb group items. There is another 'Vault' event coming up. They've mentioned they're sourcing Limelight squonkers, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's what is in the vault - but I have no real idea and that is purely a guess. Even if you can't get to a vault day, it's worth a visit just for a chat. They're currently open 8am-8pm on weekdays, 10am-4pm weekends. My primary focus in going on Saturday was to see how they did a bbq in what is a very small shop front  (they used a bench-top thingy and Shawn produced truly excellent bacon and egg rolls). I combined it with a visit to the Steamers Beaconsfield store, which I haven't been to for a very long time. Two very different experiences: The Steamery in Beaconsfield is large, modern, well established, while the Regency is small, cosy and olde world, and still finding its feet. I had a very pleasant chat at both places Cheers for the summary! Yes, it seems I am going to have to eventually make my way down there eventually - even if I am going to look a bit out of place in there . While not packing anything currently on my hit list (yeah, I'm like the only person not chasing a Haku - too much air for me), they have some things that lead me to believe that they're definitely a place to keep an eye on in the future! Particularly if they're getting in stuff on the level of SVA, Limelight, Art + Mod, etc. That stuff might even be a bit higher end than what I'm chasing... yowza. |

Nah - when you leave a shop, all the cloudsbros subtank people start asking about high end Euro gear. It's uncanny! Daggy is rocking up in your work uniform with your work banger Pulse and clone O-atty v2... and assuring everyone that yes - you DO own the authentic, honest! It's at home on your Proteus Progeks, but you don't have either of them on you right now because you don't want to ding them up at work. That's like primary school playground "My uncle works at Nintendo in Japan and has a super god mode cheat for Super Mario where Princess Peach takes her top off" level of daggy . I'm not worried about daggyness though - I was more having a giggle that they've got the "Twee milennial faux Olde-Worlde" thing going on, and my thing is walking around looking like I should be in a regional community theater production of "Blade Runner : The Musical" . |

Dude I go in there with a pair of cargo shorts thongs and flynns arcade tshirt - now thats daggy. Shop is very nice indeed. But yes if you go there the first time and you dont know the guys I'm sure its very intimidating. I would feel that way. Mind you its in chippendale so you get heaps more nutters there than the gentrified newtown so they couldnt care less what you look like. Just as long as you dont look like a crack addict. |
